Who am I?

The Interesting Stuff

I am Jessica, Evil Overlord and Brownie Maker Supreme. I am a lurker in the borderlands of reality. I am a filker, and a fan of science fiction and fantasy in many but not all of its guises. I am a Christian. Sometimes I think I must be the product of a warped imagination, but my mother assures me this is not the case. I have a strange sense of humour (you have been warned!). Currently my hobbies and interests include fencing, horse-riding, swimming, cross-stitch and quilting. I love the theatre, and in particular ballet. I am an avid reader, particularly of science-fiction/fantasy books. Current favourite authors include Mercedes Lackey and Lois McMaster Bujold. I am also fond of Daphne Du Maurier; my favourite book of all time is Frenchman's Creek. It is hard to explain why, but those who enjoy fantasy novels, and yearn for the adventure and romance portrayed therein will understand. I also read "real" books, having a reasonable collection from authors such as Thomas Hardy, Jules Verne, the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen.

I have a blenheim cavalier king charles spaniel, called Misty. My mother and grandmother each own one of her puppies, Bonnie and Oliver, who are both ruby, with white markings. Mum also has a blenheim bitch, Pippa.

The personal stuff.

I am 5 foot and no additives tall, with brown hair that never gets as long as I want it to, and is naturally curly (with a lot of artificial assistance!) For some reason even people who know me have problems believing I am this short. That could be because what I lack in height I make up for in either noise, looks or attitude, depending on who you ask. I was married briefly in 2001 until the sudden death of my husband a few months later. My eyes vary from brown to green, depending on what kind of mood I'm in (and whether I am wearing coloured lenses!)
