Why "Plaid-Dragon"?

Bit of a story behind this. I was looking for a handle I would be able to use on email and forums, which would be me wherever I was on-line, and which would not be hit too easily by auto-spammers. I am a dragon fan, I like Pern and most things draconic. However, it seemed that Anne McCaffrey had already used all the interesting colours! I also wanted something that would reflect my Celtic heritage. My family on my mothers side, are clan Graham. My grandmother was Graham from Ireland, but it was only a few generations before that that her family moved from Scotland, and the clan will trace back to Graham of Montrose, although as far as I know no-one has traced the exact genealogical route. The tartan on either side of the web page is that of Graham of Montrose, and the Graham crest is shown below.

The crest (the blazoning is a falcon wings displayed proper, beaked and armed, or, preying on a stork on its back argent, armed gules) and the motto, Ne Oublie (Do Not Forget), are shared with the related clan, Graham of Montrose, although their tartan is slightly different. This then gave me the link between my Celtic heritage and my liking for fantasy. As for the final question, why "plaid" and not "tartan"? Well, the former simply had a nicer ring to it!
